God’s Eagles Are Born To Fly
God
has called His children to be eagles. The
eagle is the most graceful and powerful bird in the air.
The most unique thing about the eagle is how they fly.
They wait for the current of wind to be just right before they spread
their wings to fly.
They don’t have to force their way through the air.
Isaiah 4:31 says, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be
weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. This
speaks of the Christian who has their heart focused on the Lord.
This person is waiting of the moving of the wind of the Spirit before
they move. The Christian who waits
on the Spirit does not have to force their way through the work that God has
called them to do.
Another interesting thing about an eagle is that he cleans and
water-proofs his wings every 24 hours. Every
day the eagle takes each wing individually and removes the parasites.
This speaks of prayer. We
must daily go to the Lord for cleansing. We
must also remove the parasites that attach themselves to us. The
eagle has a second unique feature. The
eyes. They have three different
sets of lenses. One goes up and
down. This allows the eagles to fly in the storm and see though it.
God gives us the grace and faith to see through the storms of life.
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the
evidence of things not seen. The
Bible says in Romans 4:17 that Abraham called those things that are not as
though they were. Abraham had the
eyes of an eagle.
The second lens also go up and down.
It allows the eagle to see
miles away. This gives the eagle a
20:1 zoom ratio. If I had this
ability I could read a newspaper from one mile away. God gives us spiritual eyes to see into the realm of
the supernatural. He allows us to
see His promises and often a specific vision of what He is doing.
The third lens goes side to side. The
eagle uses this lens to fly into the sun. When
the eagle is being chased and attacked, the eagle flies into the sun.
When he flies into the sun, the eagle then flies upward and the enemy is
blinded by the light of the sun.
Another feature of the eyes of an eagle is that inside the eye is an
internal compass that is set for a ten mile radius of the rock on which they are
born. If the eagle is removed from
that range, there is pressure in the eyes.
They are constantly drawn back to the rock.
If someone you love was raised in a Christian home, and they stray, they
will be drawn back to the Rock of Salvation.
Another
interesting aspect of an eagle is his nesting site. He makes his home in the cleft of the rock where no animal
can reach him. She dwelleth and
abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place (Job
39:28). Job 28:7‑8 says
“There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not
seen: The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by
it.”
This is also the secret place in Psalms 91:1.
If you remain in the presence of God Almighty, He will hide you in the
cleft of the Rock. Another thing about the eagle is that the eagle go
though a period half way though his life called molting.
During this time the eagle will lose his feathers, his beak becomes
brittle, his strength begins to fail, the nostrils fill up with calcium and he
can’t breathe, his claws become dull, and he spends time in the valley because
he can’t fly to the rock. The older eagles fly by and drop fresh food for the
eagle. We, as Christians, are
supposed to feed our brothers when they are in the valley. During this time in the valley the eagle’s strength is renewed. Everything about the eagle is made new. Psalms 103:5 says “Who(God) satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.” God’s Eagle’s Are
Born to Fly: Part 2 This is the continuation of last months’ leading article. I am going to begin by talking about the training of an eagle. The training of an eagle is an unique process to watch. The Bible mentions this in Deuteronomy 32:11, As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings. When a mother eagle builds her nest for her young, she lines it with her breast feathers. When the eagle is old enough, the mother pulls out all the soft lining of the nest. This causes the baby eagle to jump out of the nest and onto the rock. Then the mother picks up the eaglet and puts him on her back. The eaglet is now digging his claws into his mothers back. When the eaglet is comfortable, the mother eagle begins to fly. As she flies, she turns on her back and drops the eaglet in the air. The eaglet falls through the air screaming at the top of his lungs. The daddy eagle is watching the whole thing happen. He dives downward, reaching speeds of over 200mph, and catches the eaglet with his claws. This continues until the eaglet flies. This is the way God
trains us. When we are children in
Him, He comforts us and shields us. As
we grow older in Him, God wants us to get out of the nest and fly. Like the mother eagle, God will lift us out of the nest and
places us out of our comfort zone. He
will being to soar and takes us to heights that we have not known.
