The Battle RagesThe first key of spiritual warfare is the blood of Jesus. Revelation 12:11 says, ”And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.”
There are two elements that are in the knowledge of the power of the
blood of Jesus in spiritual warfare.
The first is the knowledge that you have been cleansed by His blood.
Often when you are fighting a battle in the spiritual realm, Satan will
try to attack you by reminding you of your past sins.
The second element of
the power of the blood of Jesus is found in the Old Testament. Genesis 9:6 says, “Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall
his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.” When Jesus died on the cross, he had no sin.
Satan tried to get Him to sin, but because He didn’t fall, Satan had no
legal claim on Him. And because Satan had no claim on Jesus, he is now guilty of
the blood of Jesus. According to
Genesis 9:6, Satan now must pay by his own death.
At the cross, Satan sealed his own death sentence.
I said all this to say, because of the shed blood of Jesus, we have
victory over Satan and all his demons. Satan
knows that he must pay for shedding the innocent blood of Jesus.
When we remind Satan of this fact, he has to flee, because his time
hasn’t come to be destroyed.
The second key is to know your authority in Jesus Christ.
God has given us this authority through Jesus Name. Philippians 2:9-11,
says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which
is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things
in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every
tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the
Father.”
God gave Jesus this authority. Jesus
then gave to us this power though the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:8 says, “Ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has
come up on you.”
The third key in spiritual warfare is prayer. In this key, you use the other two keys that we have dealt
with. You have to come to God
knowing that you are righteous in Christ. You
also have to know because of His authority you can come boldly to the throne of
grace.
The fourth key in spiritual warfare is praise. The power of praise is evident in Acts 16.
Paul had stepped onto Satan’s turf by casting out a devil of
Divination. Because of this, he
stirred up the people of the city and the owner of the girl, because she brought
them great money. Then he and Silas were thrown in jail. Satan thought he had stopped them. They began to praise the Lord, and the walls around them and
chains on them were broken down.
The walls and chains represent spiritual strongholds.
Through the praise that Paul and Silas gave to the Lord, they were
broken. So, as you enter into this spiritual battle for the souls of your loved ones and for this nation, remember those four keys of warfare. AJO - 1997 |
