Taking the Word to the World and the Cross to the Lost

How to Pray for Revival

Joy Odom -  2nd Chronicles 7:14 says,” If My people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land.”

I believe that God is about to pour out His Spirit upon this nation in a way that we have never seen, this revival cannot even be compared to the Great Awakening in 1720 through 1750.  God said in His Word that the glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former (Hag. 2:9).

Before we can have revival, we must begin to fast and pray.  Fasting is in God's plan for revival.  God has showed me how we can pray to bring revival to this country.

First, we must seek the Lord with all our hearts.  Isaiah 55:6 says, “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found” The second thing is we must praise God for His mercy and forgiveness.

Thirdly, we need to confess the sins of the nation.  Every sin we commit is rebellion against God, so we all are guilty of witchcraft. 1Samuel 15:23 says that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. We then need to claim the promises of forgiveness. Jeremiah 31:34 says, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more”.

Then we must also claim the promises of revival (Habakkuk 3:2-3).

Number 5 is that we need to speak to the dry bones (Ezek. 37:2-14).  God told to Ezekiel to prophecy to the dry bones and command them to come together.  Then God told him to prophecy to the Wind to come and fill the bones and then they became a mighty army.  God showed me that the dry bones are the church, and God will place the sinews on us and that will give us strength.  The flesh is the love that God will place in our hearts for one another and the lost.  God said, in Ezekiel 36:26, that He will take the heart of stone out of us and give us a heart of flesh.

The skin that covers is a bond and the unity we have in Christ Jesus.  The denominational barriers will be torn down.  The wind is the Spirit of the Lord.  In the Hebrew text, the word for wind is ruwach, that word also means Spirit.  God promises to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh in the last days.

The Bible says that the bones became a mighty army, after His children come together in the unity of Christ, we will be mighty warriors in the Kingdom of God and then we will have true revival.
