KIDS, SKATEBOARDS, & MINISTRY TRAINING

Tonight we are at First Assembly Of God, pastored by Terry and Mary Inman.  This prayer ministry training is being done in anticipation of Randy Clark being here June 17-21. This is a church of about 1000, and you can tell they are having an impact on their neighborhood around them. They have a school, with about 1500 kids on campus every day. They also sponsor many youth activities for the surrounding community, and tonight  was skateboard night.  Kids and skateboards everywhere. This was to be a somewhat unusual night, in that since we were a small group of about 45 people, we met in one of the other buildings (this is a big church), and we had no worship team. So one of the talented men led us in several songs accapello.

WORDS FOR HEALING

God began immediately, giving Carol, Claudene, a friend who has traveled with us, and me 14 words of knowledge for healing. There was a response to every word, which is always a good start. We felt like we weren't to pray over them yet, but that several would get healed just during the message, and as we checked before ministry, 4 had received complete relief from their pain!

Carol spoke on "God At War", finishing with the point that we all need more of His power if we are to be the effective army of God. Ministry time began with praying for "more." We always love this part, but we also want to see the fruit of the ministry. This became evident later in the testimony of Barbara, who had the pain in her neck leave, and the brokenhearted feeling she had come with leave!  Marilyn had all the pain, that she had suffered with for several years in her back leave. A young woman named Kelly was coming up to give her testimony, when the power of God came on her, and Terry began praying for her. She began interceding loudly in tongues, and he felt now that God wanted him to pray for all those who wanted to be able to be used to release the gift of the Holy Spirit in others. We thought the night was winding down, but off we went again.

USE THEM LORD, TO IMPACT THE YOUTH

Carol had a word for Cori, who is the youth pastor, and we ended up praying for her and Tomeko, who work with the youth of this church. They both have a huge burden to reach the many youth around this church, and have been successful in the outreaches, drawing in many who don't go to church. It was a powerful time of prayer, and we had the sense that God is up to something with this church reaching out for the youth of this city.  By the end of the evening, we know of at least 12 people who had been healed, and we anticipate hearing more testimonies tomorrow morning. On Saturday, we will cover deliverance and praying for the sick. I'll report on those meetings later.
