PASTOR JACK BOJE ON INTERCESSION 11-13-99 Turn to James chapter 4:7 would you please and this is one of those verses you should have memorized. Actually start with verse 6. What is grace? Power! Anointing, authority, He leads those people. And the proud, they’re going to fall on their face and get broken. All of those of you who are proud and wanting to do it your way who are independent; submit yourselves therefore to God. Come near to God and He will come near to you. My point is this: Resisting the devil begins with submitting to God, first! You want your church to be free from the devil? Then pray that your church comes to a place of submitting to God. That’s the only antidote we have against witchcraft. Against the warfare. Because it is the Lord that defeated the devil and it is the power of His cross that will destroy his works. If the power of His cross will destroy his works. Without us embracing the cross in our life; there is no power. You have no authority. That’s why He said; "My disciples must pick up their cross and follow Me." And it’s not that pretty little thing you wear around your neck, this "puppy" is to die on!!! And He reminds me on a regular basis; "No cross, NO victory." Only as we submit to Him and take up our cross daily will we begin to carry that authority. I believe that the Lord will anoint us and give us more and more authority as we more and more die to our self; and more and more become submissive to Him. As we prove our self in servant hood and obedience and love, then He says; "this is someone who I can trust with My authority." This is someone who’s not going to run out there and shake their fist’s and say, "Lord bring down fire and brimstone." Remember John and James; "Lord should we pray?" It’s only going to be those who are obedient. For as many that are led by the Spirit of God; these are the Sons of God. So our spiritual authority is ambassadorial in nature. We must exercise it according to God’s specific command. If you are an ambassador; that means you carry the authority of your nation, you’re not acting on your behalf, or what you think is best, you take your counsel from the nation and you go and represent the nation. This is what the United States says. This is our stand. And so if a person is going to be put into that place of government they at first had to be very submissive to what their government believes and what their stand is. We have to know the will and the mind and the will of the Father. We have better been sent by Him and receive our marching orders. You understand what I am trying to say? So the reason we have a lack of covering, a spiritual covering, is because; we are exercising our spiritual authority randomly by our own will against demons, and power, and principalities. And when we do that, we come out from underneath our covering and we get our butts kicked!! Even if you have revelation, if this person is being impacted by this demon or, they’re oppressed or they’re possessed, or they have this slimy thing on them you know, that you have discernment to, doesn’t mean you’re supposed to act on it. You only act when God tells you to act. Until then you intercede. And you cover them in prayer. Do some warfare; intercede on their behalf. Replace it with the opposite spirit. Fill the void now with Your Spirit, God. You don’t just cast a demon out! And leave the house empty. You got to replace it with the Spirit of God. And so that’s what you are praying for is that old nature would be gone and the new nature of Christ will fill its’ place. So He’s our Commander in chief. Remember when we went to war in Iraq in Desert Storm? They had a strategy that the ground war could not begin until the air war was finished. And there was much debate as to when the ground troops should proceed and some of them got uptight and thought that they were wasting valuable time, they said "Yeah let’s go kick some butt, man." They hated the fact that they weren’t in there mixing it up yet. They said they were being told to wait too long. Raw power is one thing to behold. But it’s another thing to have proper strategy. Just because we have the power and the authority given to us as Sons of God, that’s one thing; and it’s an awesome power. Just the name of Jesus caused the demons to shutter and tremble and run and flee in a hundred other directions. Just the name of Jesus. So why haven’t we been more effective when we say: "Principality, in the name of Jesus, come down." Because judgment first starts in the House of God. When we work on brotherly love, the more we work on unity, and covering one another in prayer, and interceding and doing warfare on behalf of one another, to be able to come in to what God’s wanting them to be. Then we’ll start having some authority from God. And then God can entrust us to carry about His will here on earth as it is in heaven. Encounters with darkness should always be according to our directives of our commander in chief. Those who didn’t want to were full of pride. Or selfish ambition. I’ve been there. It was pride; man thinking that he did not really need God and he could disobey God. Which caused the fall and which made for the great breech between God and men and then between men and men. It was pride. So it is with intercessors; if they’re not willing to take their marching orders from the Lord. Who’s the head of the Body? We read it in Ephesians; Christ. He’s the head. In the body of Christ is we remove the head; repeatedly year after year, time after time, and their leaders are standing up there; "Charge" and you know, taking the body of Christ where it shouldn’t go. Or where it doesn’t belong. Because the leaders haven’t been trained to take their marching orders from God. And they’re going to impart the same disobedience, the same rebellion, to those under their care. Apart from intimacy with Jesus Christ, I mean each one of us are coming into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, the body cannot become what she’s called to be. We all have a job to do. Get close to Jesus. Learn His voice. "My sheep know My voice." "My sheep follow Me where ever I lead them." In fact if they hear the voice of another, they’ll flee from it. That’s our job. It isn’t to come and do church!! Or work our way to heaven; doing this and doing that. Our job is to fall in love with Him, and if we can do that, then the second commandment will be easy!!! Love your neighbor as yourself. Why; because that is the heart of the Father. And as you fall in love with Him, He’ll give you His heart and you’ll be able to fulfill the second command. So pride will never result in our victory in spiritual warfare. But we’ll always work to cause further breech. Let us be wise warriors as well as bold ones. May we always hear and obey the voice of our commander. Praise the Lord |
